Concept of Iron Removal Filter
In simple terms, an iron removal filter is designed to remove excess iron content present in feed water, with minimum pressure drop. It helps treat hard water by removing minerals and making the water soft — a problem many households and industries face.
How do you know if your water has excess iron? If your water has a foul, rotten-egg odor or looks reddish-brown, it likely has an excessive iron content. Rusted or damaged pipes are another sign of the same problem.
Excess iron in water can be harmful — it can affect an industry's design, cost and operation, and causes discoloration of water, laundry and plumbing fixtures. Our iron removal plants work by oxidizing the dissolved (ferrous) iron into an undissolved (ferric) form, which then precipitates onto the filter bed and is removed from the water.
